I like the styling for this era as well, the combination of something both retro and modern and I feel like everything is just very cohesive about this comeback. The style of the song itself does feel like a wistful memory packed in a song and I think the girls portray this well, both through the song and the beautiful music video. After We Ride seems like some sort of female counterpart of SEVENTEEN’s Ready To Love for some reason, the rainy summer feelings both of these songs evoke in me too similar for me to overlook it. This is the style I like a lot personally and I feel like this is one of the best attempts at it this year (the retro rollercoaster Rocket Punch gave us with Ring Ring is still unrivaled for me) because Brave Girls are fantastic mood makers, always navigating atmosphere in the right direction. The laid back nature of After We Ride is something I can absolutely get behind, especially during that dreamy chorus that makes me actually go for a ride. This summer has been a weird mixture of autumn songs, retro concepts and occasional noisy tracks by boy groups and it has left me confused – why is it that we haven’t got half the summer songs I was hoping for?
